Heat Pumps

Slash your hot tub energy bills with an Air Source Heat Pump

Heat Pumps for Hot Tubs Scotland

SAVE MONEY and use up to 75% less ENERGY on your hot tub running costs with an Air Source Heat Pump! Generate FREE energy with a Hot Tub Heat Pump – For every 1 kilowatt of electricity a standard electric heater consumes it only outputs 1 kilowatt of heat. In comparison for every 1 kilowatt of electricity our heat pumps consume, they output up to 5.5 kilowatts of heat, thereby generating up to 4.5 kilowatts of heat for FREE!

How does it work?

Our heat pumps use refrigeration technology to extract heat from the air (even when cold) and only consume a very small amount of energy to power a fan motor and compressor. When compared to gas or electric heaters our heat pumps use a tiny portion of energy to generate the same amount of heat output, using around 75% less energy than an electric spa heater & 55% less energy than natural gas. There are multiple benefits of using an air source heat pump for your hot tub, some of which are listed below.

Benefits of an Air Source Heat Pump:

Reduced electricity bills

Faster heat up times

Fast return on investment

Affordable year round spa use

Spa stays hot on cold nights

Heat and cool your spa

Corrosion Resistant

Reduced carbon emissions

Interfaced to spa control

Types of Air Source Heat Pumps

On Off Heat Pumps – On/Off compressors are either on or off, so all or nothing. They cannot vary their output or power usage. Newer inverter-style air source heat pumps can run at variable speeds, so on a warmer day when less heat is cooled, they can run slower meaning less power is used. The inverter heat pumps use less power than the on/off heat pumps.

Inverter Heat Pumps –  Inverter Heat Pump technology is the most efficient way of heating your hot tub. They can operate at variable speeds, and are ultra reliable. These models do tend to cost more initially to purchase but offer greater savings in the long term. The most efficient heat pumps (like what we supply) use inverter technology. So instead of the equipment in the heat pump being either on or off (fan, compressor, expansion valve) they can vary in speed which means they run only as much as required, therefore much more efficiency and cost saving.
